Melanna over at Rhapsody of Cacophony shared this sweet ruffled skirt, modelled by this sweet little princess no less!  As a seam-'stress' myself,  I love seeing other people's sewing projects - especially the finished ones!!  It's sew encouraging to me!  Great job Melanna!

As a party-girl my self,  I love reading all your fun, fabulous parties!  This mystery party from Kim at Plumberry Pie takes the cake - literally!!  YUM-O!!  I can't wait to hear how you 'solved' the rest of your party dilemmas so I hope you're back this week too!

Sassy Sunday Blog Hop #10

Happy Easter everyone!  By the way, did you know that the Easter 'Octave' actually lasts eight weeks?!  So, even though we took a week off last week, it's not too late to wish you all a Happy Easter!  Last week, I decided to take the WHOLE week off and celebrate Easter (and a wedding - so fun!) with my family.  Good fellowship (and GREAT music) in church, followed by good food, a GREAT time with family and more Easter egg hunting than I can remember!  We are truly blessed!

Last week's party was full of great Easter and Spring decorating ideas, so I hope everyone took a few minutes to look around and leave a comment or two for your fellow crafty party goers.  I know I love hearing from others and I'm sure you do too!  In honor of the NEW life we have been given in Christ, I wanted to introduce you to three newcomers to our Sassy (Sleepy) Sunday Blog Hop and thank ALL of you for sharing your ideas with us!

And last, but not least, this darling Easter Cloche from Marisa @ Marisa's Pieces Online.  I too am a fan of Ballet Slipper Pink (wink, wink) and this project is super cute!!

At the last party, a SURPRISE giveaway was up for grabs to the crafty gal with the most views who also linked back to one or both the hostesses sites and I am happy to announce that Kate @ A Creative Cookie is our winner with her adorable sock bunnies!!!

And here's what she's won!!

What is it you ask?!  Well, that's a very good question.  It's obviously very old and used to measure things, but what exactly it is . . . . well, I'm not really sure!  It has an adjustable piece with brass inlays to help keep it accurate over time and a tiny metal pin on one end that makes me think of a compass, but I don't think that's what it is.  I have asked a few people, including a carpenter and an architect, if perhaps they had any ideas, but so far I haven't come up with anything definitive yet. 

Would, love, love, love if anyone knows anything to let the rest of know so we can all learn something new about this little piece of history I found in Round Top!  I look forward to sharing all my 'Friday Finds' from Round Top this week, as well as a couple of of projects I am finishing up for the kids' room!  In the mean time, you know the rules . . . .!

Sassy Sunday Bloghop # 9 and SURPRISE Giveaway!

Howdy Y'all!

It's another bee-U-tee-FULL Spring morning here in Texas - and that's no April Foolin'!  It really has been unseasonably warm this Spring - so much so that if I don't throw my kids into the very next patch of bluebonnets I see, it's going to be too late for pictures this year - ack!!  Guess I will add that to my 'to do' list too!

We've just been busy around here, and there's been no time to slow down.  That's why I am so excited, because this week me and two of my besties are going to get a chance to do just that - Antiques Week has hit Texas and WE ARE THERE come Thursday!  Yee-Haw!!

What is Antiques Weekend you ask?  only THE LARGEST Antique/flea market/garage sale event you can imagine!!  It's miles and miles of warehouse and roadside vendors, that converge on the little towns of Warrenton and Round Top, TX twice a year.

It. Is. Awesome!!!!!!!!

You can read all about it on the Junk Gypsy Co. Roadside Ramblins' website.  They are two Aggie girls (Whoop!) who quit their day jobs to scour the country for things us do-it-yourselfers can't live without!  And they are the official hostesses of The Junk-O-Rama Prom on Thursday night!!

And I am SOOOO ready for my 'soul vacation!'

It's not Sunday is it?!

I know we're half-way through the week, but I just couldn't muster the energy it was going to take to blog before today.  Have you ever had a weekend like that?  Last weekend definitely was for me.  I spent ALL DANG DAY in the yard on Thursday and Friday prepping for Snacks' birthday party - which was SO AWESOME - despite a few hitches.  But more on that later.

Sassy Sunday Blog Hop # 5 and Lucky One-sie Giveaway

Last week I posted a quote that my friend Randee at Randee's Organized Chaos found that said 'The days are long but the years are short,'  but I have to tell you that last week even the days seemed too short . . . and the week ahead's not looking any better!!

Spring has SPRUNG for all intents and purposes around here and with it comes THREE birthdays, one wedding and Spring Break, all in the month of March!!  Needless to say, I've got party planning on the brain right now.  Luckily, some of you linked up some super sassy ideas I am only too happy to see and share!!

Like this awesome Monster Mash Birthday Party from Kate at A Creative Cookie.  Apparently her cupcakes are pretty creative too (wink, wink) - yum!!

And check out these fantastic party decorations by Sarah at Alderberry Hill - the crepe paper streamers and Happy Birthday bunting are exquisite!!  So simple but with a BIG impact!!  I will be stealing using this idea for sure!!

Of the three  parties ahead, the most important one is for my littlest man!!   It is almost unbelievable to me that Snacks will be TWO in exactly 3 weeks!!  He's into dinosaurs and trains, so what better theme than a Dinosaur Train birthday party, eh???!  Not much out there in the way of 'Party City'-style decor, so PLEASE put your thinking caps on and link up and/or leave me a comment with your BIG IDEAS for my big boy's big day!!

As an incentive, I'm throwing in an appliqued tie bodysuit size 18-24 months for the link with the most likes this week!  I made it for Snacks and with it's bold green and white polka dot pattern, it's perfect for St. Patrick's Day!  But with those long sleeves and 80+ daytime temps already creeping in around these parts, I'm afraid Snacks will just have to get his green on some other way!!
